Jubilee 42 is a small online fashion magazine written from Hitachi, in Ibaraki Prefecture. It is built around one idea: that a good silhouette can be explained. When a coat works, there is a reason for it, in the shoulder, the length, the weight of the cloth. We would rather describe that reason than simply tell you what to buy. The magazine is for a thoughtful reader, someone who wants to understand a season before spending money on it.
Most of what we publish is practical. Notes on dressing through an unsettled October, on building a neutral wardrobe in a sensible order, on which coat shapes are appearing in the autumn collections and what each one asks of the rest of the outfit. Readers who want a more personal conversation can book a styling session by video: a first conversation, a seasonal wardrobe edit, occasion styling or ongoing guidance.
